Making bags that make people happy.
My name is Tim, the founder of Cora + Spink. You might be wondering how I ended up making bags for a living... Well, a chat on a bus, a university paper, and the need to keep a roof over my head were all players...
Back in 2004, I wrote a thesis, "The Environmental Impact of the Fashion Industry, with a Practical Response". In it, I looked at how the fashion industry was damaging the environment, and what happens when textiles are disposed of.
Passionate to find a solution to the global impact of the textile industry, I explored how plant based materials could help. This obsession with natural materials persisted for years, until 2014, when I was able to launch: Cora + Spink!
A very simple goal evolved from those early thoughts: make bags that make people happy.
Cora + Spink is constantly evolving and we're far from perfect, but we work everyday with our mantra to be happy.
Where natural materials count.
At Cora + Spink, we are passionate about reducing our impact on the environment. That's one reason why we only use plant based materials and textiles to make backpacks. Natural cotton is biodegradable and renewable, ages brilliantly and creates a product that changes and develops with use.
We are very proud that our entire production is 100% vegan, a side benefit to using only plant based materials!
