An original footstool crafted from solid oak
An unusual and unique piece of furniture: made from precision-cut solid oak pieces, joined to produce a single thick profile. Wonderfully robust and stable, with the legs cut as part of the pattern, so there are no bolts or other fixings to work loose.
The cross-section of the stool is that of an aeroplane wing, and is angled to produce a very comfortable curved and sloping top surface. The idea behind the design was to match the curvature of a person's calves, as they rest on the stool.
The Little Wing Footstool also makes a fun child's seat, and kids seem to enjoy sliding over it, too!
Whenever possible, we source our wood from industrial offcuts, excess stocks and reclaim sources in the UK. All solid timber can change as it ages, and you should protect your product from constant changes in temperature and humidity.
We apply a simple oil finish, which gives a very pleasant smooth matt sheen to the wood, and no lacquers or varnishes to flake off over time. The wood can be cleaned with a damp cloth, and recoated with oil should it be needed (recommended once or twice a year) to maintain the finish.
Please note that the colour and figuring of wood varies quite a lot, and even similar pieces can develop differently during oiling. The images should therefore be used as a guide only: the finish you recieve may be a little lighter or darker.
