Chocolate Submarine is a one-person creative enterprise run by Julia Brooks, that sells witty stationary.
"When i was 16 an art tutor told me i was good at graphic design and that i should pursue a career in that field. Foolishly i did a fine art degree instead, which led me down a path sign-posted 'nowhere'. Then I discovered notonthehighstreet.com and realised that it could be a path that led me back to 'somewhere', sign-posted 'wow!!!! Can i?' So i went back to graphic design, down the path i should have gone and notonthehighstreet.com like my designs and i like that very much! I have always liked drawing, words and being silly and my designs combine all three. I have so much fun thinking up the designs. My brain and hands come together and have a fine time indeed.
Thanks to all my customers. I really do appreciate you helping me down this path called 'wow! Yes i can!"
I like trees! Acers and beech trees are my favourite. Every greetings card is made from recycled card and all of the envelopes are made from FSC certified paper.
Oh... and if you're wondering what the name's about - 'chocolate submarine'? It's a dedication to the most wonderful person in the world who insists on me singing 'chocolate submarine' instead of 'yellow submarine' for his bedtime song.
