Light Relief in a Serious World. Gifts to bring a chuckle and art to make a house a home.
Having worked as a fashion designer & illustrator for many years for recognised brands I wanted to make my own mark. I had a clothing brand 'Slush' which sold in Topshop & worldwide while also freelancing as a graphic designer. I relocated leaving London, had a daughter and studied Illustration at Manchester School of Art. Once again reevaluating my career I became drawn to reality and less idealism. I would sketch on location and create lifestyle drawings of people in coffee houses. As I gained recognition I began tagging them with 'Cherie did this'.
Throughout this time I was running a shop in my home town and enjoyed chatting with people. I started to understand what the best gifts were and began designing my own.
Influenced by my fashion background and my collection of kitsch & vintage memorabilia I've hoarded over the years. Always looking to put a twist on something recognizable, combining it with a function ..be it a print, pencil case, wash bag or tea towel. I love the idea of gifts being Smile Makers.
Cherie did this is constantly evolving and I love to hear your feedback and comments. The connection with my customers is very important to me. It is why I do what I do.
