The Science Behind It | The Galileo thermometer works on the principle that the density of the liquid alters when the room temperature changes. Each bubble is partially filled with a liquid which gives the bubbles an extra weight. When the room temperature rises, the liquid in each bubble becomes less dense and they slowly sink the bubble.
How To Read The Temperature | If the bubbles are scattered the lowest hanging bubble from the top reads the correct temperature, if all the bubbles float to the top the lowest hanging bubble represents the current temperature and if all bubbles sink to the bottom the top bubble shows the current room temperature.
