Bean and Bemble is a family-run lifestyle store, brand and online shop based in beautiful Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. We create bold, design-led collections that bring colour and character into everyday living.

Our range includes statement wall art, soft furnishings, colourful homeware and refurbished furniture. From cushions and lampshades to placemats, coasters throws and art prints, our shop in Hebden Bridge, and our online stores are filled with unique, design-focused pieces for your home and life.

With a combination of British-made and carefully chosen sustainably made and re-imagined products, Bean and Bemble is all about thoughtful design for modern, joyful living.

Michelle Dodds founded Bean and Bemble in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns after returning to the UK after 7 years living in the Middle East. As the proud owner of a first-class honours degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design, the business represented the culmination of months of hard work, combined with a strong desire to finally use her degree and years of design experience to create something truly fabulous. Her vibrant homeware and gift collections are inspired by a love of colour, animals, nature and striking product design. Each piece blends intricate hand-drawn illustrations with clean, precise digital graphics to create bright, colourful and uplifting designs, applied to beautiful yet practical household products, colourful wall art and soft furnishings that bring joy and personality to any space.

Michelle's brother, Simon joined Bean and Bemble in 2025 for the opening of our physical store, bringing with him a refined eye for craftsmanship and a passion for reimagining furniture with character. With a background as a bench joiner and experience in interior design, his work is rooted in an appreciation for natural materials, considered detail, and timeless form. He combines traditional joinery techniques with a contemporary aesthetic, creating pieces that feel both elevated and enduring. Through The Rework Studio, Simon thoughtfully restores and reinterprets vintage and second-hand furniture — breathing new life into each piece while honouring its original story. The result is a collection of one-of-a-kind designs, rich in character and made to be lived with for years to come.

Our colourful shop and studio is based in lovely Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, where you’ll find our range of art, home accessories, decor, gifts, and a selection of bespoke furniture. We also showcase a growing, handpicked collection of products from other beautiful British brands, artists and designers. Around 90% of Bean and Bemble’s core product range is either entirely made or carefully hand-finished in the UK. We’re passionate about supporting British manufacturing, using premium materials and ethical production wherever possible.
