Description

Handmade in a small workshop in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. The women makers all live locally and work flexible hours around family commitments. The artisans sit on the padded workshop floor, using their toes to keep the decorations in place while hand-stitching and threading our decorations and felt dining range. AURA QUE started working with the group in 2019.

Made from

Carefully hand-felted from 100% raw sheep wool with soap and water. The shades of grey, brown and cream are completely natural, while other colours are produced using azo-free dyes. Wool is a natural insulator, with high breathability, and it resists odours due to its natural antibacterial properties. Wool is one of the most sustainable fabrics in existence; renewable and biodegradable, it requires relatively little water for its production. Our wool is mulesing free. The decorations are not affixed and can be gently pulled along the waxed thread to reach your desired spacing; they grip the thread and remain in place unless moved. For safety reasons, keep out of reach of young children.
