Unique hand painted artwork inspired by the infinite complexities of nature. Digitally printed and hand finished to become wearable pieces of art.
Taking inspiration from the tradition of luxury craftsmanship while playing with unexpected combinations, I create unique artwork by contrasting hand drawn delicacy with a strong dynamic, edge.
Arranging watercolour painted botanical blooms from around the globe and intertwining them with undersea creatures and intriguing insects, my individual, unique prints are full of life.
Both exotic and romantic, with intriguing complexity, art and fashion become one.
Alice Acreman Silks began 2014 at London's Graduate fashion week where my 6 outfit handmade collection of illustrated silk pieces billowed down the catwalk. The reaction was so positive that the 'beautifully feminine and entirely wearable collection' was soon in high demand and I began producing the same prints on square silk scarves. The digital printing technique applies new technology to flawlessly transfer hand painted artwork onto fine silk, while the artwork takes inspiration from more traditional textile practices.
