Alice Acreman-Textile Artist

Unique hand painted artwork inspired by the infinite complexities of nature. Digitally printed and hand finished to become wearable pieces of art.

Born from the love of luxurious fabrics, illustration and the amazing natural world, Alice Acreman began her beautiful textile brand- Alice Acreman Silks back in 2014. While studying Fashion, experimenting with pattern cutting and methods of fabric embellishment at Arts University Bournemouth, Alice created a 12 piece womanswear collection digitally printed with her own artwork. The collection debuted at Graduate Fashion Week 2014 in London and where the bold orange silk turned heads as it floated along the catwalk. The popularity of her designs meant the pieces were in high demand and soon she began sourcing talented craftspeople to help her produce Silk scarves to satisfy the need.

Taking inspiration from travelling around the world, Alice has continued to develop her silk collections, initially focusing on Silk scarves but then adding her stunning Silk Kimono Jackets developed from her womanswear collection. Keen to focus on quality, not quantity, she works carefully, hand painting artwork and paying close attention to colour palettes. Often unusual, her striking motifs resemble the scientific illustrations from a time before photographic technology but combines with geometric and more digitally created elements.

Developing a Vegan product had become increasingly important to Alice as environmental issues have spiralled in recent years. Her Vegan suede cushions, are as popular as the silk items and her products range has developed to cater more hardwearing fabrics for interior design projects. As well as supporting charity event by gifting her products, Alice is proud to be able to support a charity that helps to protect the Amazon Rainforest. Being able to do more than just ‘make nice things’ is a driving force for the brand.

Now in it’s 4th year, Alice Acreman Silks has produced three striking print collections and grown to be able to offer a range of products adorned with Alice’ own artwork. She has great plans to continue to develop exciting new product ranges and continue working with other talented creatives and wonderful clients on bespoke projects. How its made

Alice uses watercolour painting and collage to create her unique style of art work. Geometric shapes contrast with organic leaves and intricate animal illustrations. It is then scanned and sent to be printed onto luxury fabrics.

We work with local businesses as much as possible including a London tailoring company who specialise in silk.
