“Light my fire” was the first song written by Robby Krieger, The Doors’ guitarist. Apparently, Jim Morrison asked his fellow band members for help to write some songs. Krieger asked him what he could write about and Morrison answered something universal. So, Krieger was inspired by the four elements: Earth, Wind, Sea and Fire, although later he would only concentrate on one of them, Fire; influenced by “Play with Fire” by The Rolling Stones. On 12th December 1970, “Light my fire” was the last song Jim Morrison sang at The Warehouse de New Orleans before his death in Paris on 3rd July 1971.

Made from

Organically farmed Garnacha Tintorera grapes.

15% ABV 2019/2020 vintages, Vegan friendly

Light my Fire grapes are organically farmed which means method of crop and livestock production that involves much more than choosing not to use pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones.

But what really means so much to us is that there are real, tangible and lasting benefits to the environment and the farmers as a result of transitioning to organic farming practices. Specifically, organic vines tend to need less water applied, because soils are built up with compost and contain more organic matter, which holds water far better. Organic vines have been proven more resilient against increasing droughts and temperature spikes.

By curtailing harmful and unnecessary irrigation practices organic wineries are protecting local ecosystems and preserving their surrounding flora and fauna. By using less water and not tainting the existing water supply with chemicals the vineyard workers are doing their part to leave the earth as healthy, if not healthier, than they found it!
