An exquisitely handsewn English leather belt from the UK's premier Classic Leather Belt specialists.
Made to order, gift boxed and optional gift message.
Wide range of sizes available.
Smart, practical and for those who know leather, simply to handle this luxury item makes them look up and smile.
Using traditional handtools and skills of the old English Saddlery Trade, this stunning belt will be hand cut, handstitched at eight stitches per inch, then carefully finished entirely by hand, by a National Award winning craftsman.
Sedgwick's world-renowned leather (more on this below) is designed for a job: thick enough to be a belt, it will stand up to the rigours of everyday use.
Over time, the luxurious suppleness of this leather will enable the belt to naturally - and beautifully - mold to the shape of the wearer. A TBM belt will look after the owner as well as the owner will look after it and will become a firm favourite for years to come.
TBM's handmade English leather belts are perfect for spoiling that special person in your life... or simply to treat yourself.
Your 'TBM Bravo' handmade English leather belt will be beautifully gift wrapped, in a bubble lined, sturdy gift box with tissue paper and a gift card. If you would like us to add a personal message to the gift card, please enter the details in the optional 'personal message' box.
The belt colour pictured is 'Australian Nut'. There are several colours available and we can supply leather colour samples, please ask.
Please take extra care to check the required size carefully as different trouser styles can require a different belt size.
TBM belts are measured from where the leather turns over the buckle to the centre of the range of holes.
To find the right size to order, take a belt that the recipient likes to wear: some detective work may be required here! Measuring the leather part only, take the length from where the leather touches the buckle to their hole that is most often used.
Then select the nearest size from the wide range of options available.
You can also try just adding 5cm (2 inches) to the recipient's normal trouser size but please note that this does not work for everyone.
If you are unsure, just drop us a line and we will be pleased to help.
... Sedgwick’s First Selection, English Bridle Butt Leather with a 3.3cm solid stainless steel roller buckle.
Obtained from the supplier with the Royal Warrant and used in horse harness, Sedgwick's best bridle leather is world renowned for its strength, durability, density and lustre, and when new it is fairly stiff.
As the product is worn in, in a similar way to wearing in new boots, the belt leather will react beautifully to the natural oils in the hands and to the body heat of the wearer, and gradually become more supple over time. This produces a wonderfully personal accessory, a condition which cannot be purchased in a newly made form.
Each belt strap is cut from a single layer of this unique leather... it cannot delaminate, needs no stitching around the edges to hold it together and will not split at the holes in the same way as those available from popular high street retailers.
The solid stainless steel buckle has the strength to last for the lifetime of the wearer and beyond! This style bears a 'roller' which will help the strap to roll smoothly over the buckle, thus reducing the stresses on the top surface of the leather.
the TBM difference...
TBM customers appreciate the difference between belts which are 'hand-machined' and those which are genuinely 'handmade'... please do take a moment to view the 'storefront' for more information (click on the 'TBM - The Belt Makers' link, under the product title)
Real leather is, of course, a natural material so a little slight marking and colour variation are expected. No two belts will be the same.
We endorse the 'Slow Fashion' ethos. It won't be necessary to replace this belt each season as it will last for years under normal wear circumstances. Please see our reviews!
A note on leather care:
Take care when wearing with light coloured items as, with any coloured leather product, some colour transfer may occur, especially in hot or damp conditions.
Tallow is introduced to the skins during the traditional bridle leather tanning process and protects the leather during work on the item, coming to the surface of the skin over time. Each belt is brushed well before it goes to its new owner, however, some tallow may still rub off onto clothing for the first few times of wearing. This is normal and should brush off the clothing each time or wash out without any trouble.
Simply brush the leather with a clean shoe brush to reveal the natural lustre.
