What better way to spend a couple of hours together, than by enjoying a hands on beekeeping and tasting experience at a beautiful British vineyard?
A memorable hands-on beekeeping experience on a bee-autiful Sussex Vineyard. Learn all about bees in the middle of the idyllic Sussex Downs before relaxing over a tutored honey and beer tasting. The perfect artisan foodie day out.
Your two hour Experience starts with a short introduction to Bees and Beekeeping while overlooking the South Downs and Sussex Countryside. We'll then get suited up for a hive inspection and help Hiver's Beekeeper in handling the frames and checking the health of the hive. After the fun of getting up close with the 'Ladies', we'll retreat to the winery tasting room to relax over a tutored beer and food matching session with a taster of Albourne Estate's incredible English vermouth. You are then free to explore the rest of the vineyard, onsite shop and bar and ask any questions you might have. The vineyard grounds include a small lake, a boathouse and is part of the Sussex wine route with many pubs and sights nearby to enjoy. Why not buy a picnic and enjoy!
We’re convinced that this Experience will show you the best of British produce and countryside and leave a lasting impression.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Hiver experience is available on selected Saturdays until the middle of September and the sessions can be booked by following the information on your e-voucher via our booking portal or over the telephone. Choose a date and session that suits you or if you'd like to book something bespoke, we'd be happy to organise a custom tour based on the availability of our Beekeeper.
All vouchers are valid for 9 months from the date of purchase.
Sessions are in groups of up to twelve people and in the case of really wet weather, we'll be inspecting the exhibition hive, build brood frames and looking at bi-products of the hive instead of the Hive Inspection.
Please wear socks and covered shoes on the day and a few layers that you can take off as you get into your suits!
We're afraid that you must be over 18 to purchase and also to enjoy The Hiver Experience. It is not suitable for anyone with a known bee allergy.
