Florence Hoy is the designer/maker behind Florence Makes and is currently based in Leeds. Florence was originally trained in ceramics but found more joy in creating the paper test pieces prior to crafting the vessel. As a result, she now works primarily with found papers including vintage Ordnance Survey maps and discarded rail tickets. Flo has developed a range of unique home accessories which utilise these unusual materials.

Flo is currently exploring the theme of repetition in her current body of work the 'curious commodities' collection. The potential that repetition can bestow on an item is incredible, it transforms the insignificant and overlooked. Flo loves to create bright, bold and exciting pieces, using sustainable materials, that will be treasured for years to come.
