Our Story
Unique Paper Stationery - Designed and Printed in England.
We’re a small family business, with all our artwork being created by a mother and daughter duo, Sally and Laura. We founded Elizabeth May Designs in 2021 from the desire to create high quality paper stationery with unique, quirky designs and colourful artwork.
Our namesake, Elizabeth May (or Betty to those close to her), was a gracious lady who appreciated quality, good design, and had great taste. A wonderfully caring mother and grandmother, she was the inspiration behind our business.
We source all our products very carefully, taking time to consider both the quality and sustainability of everything we sell. As such we only choose to work with suppliers who care about the environment and are taking steps to make sure their business is as eco friendly as possible. We are proud to say that we only use FSC accredited paper and card, and we’re also 100% plastic free as we use only recyclable paper or card packaging!

About Our Artists
Mother and Daughter Duo, Sally and Laura
Having always had a strong interest in design, Laura uses a mix of traditional and digital art techniques. She loves animals, but particularly dogs, and she finds inspiration while walking her two dogs, Poppy and Basil, in the countryside near Cheltenham where she is based. Laura designed the Happy Hounds and Funky Farmyard collections.
A traditionally trained artist who favours etching and illustration with her delicate and intricate style. Sally’s artwork has been in a number of exhibitions. She's also designed brand logos, labels and packaging. She is based on the border between Wiltshire and Berkshire, where she looks after her garden and her chickens. Sally designed the Interesting Insects and Under the Sea collections.

Need to get a card to someone in a hurry? We're happy to post your chosen card direct to the recipient complete with your own message! Just leave us a note in the checkout with the message you would like written inside the card, and add the delivery address for whoever you're sending it to.
