Here at China Betty we believe gift giving should be personal and we like to think that we help to spread a little happiness.

We design and hand decorate beautiful bone china items to showcase your own personal messages, important dates or even little stories. Perhaps a good morning gorgeous breakfast cup, a favourite quote on a plate or even a “thank you” teapot!

Our beautifully designed and hand decorated gifts are known to cause outbreaks of spontaneous delight and of course to make the recipient feel really special.

A 1930's "gift for a good girl” cup originally inspired me, designer Nicky Lewis, to set up China Betty to bring your heartfelt, funny or even slightly risque messages to tableware.

Now joined by daughter Bryony Lewis, we very much a family business and based here on our family croft in a workshop right by the sea on the isle of Lismore, a mile or so off the wild and beautiful west coast of Scotland.
