Authentic Mexican crafts with a contemporary twist. Fairly traded, ethical & handmade products - designed in the UK, made in Mexico with love.
Chilpa was born in 2013 in Nunhead, London with Mexican roots.
We believe in quality design made by people who get a fair price for their work.
We work with 4 communities of artisans and together we design & produce all our products. Most of our products are designed by us and exclusive to Chilpa, incorporating centuries-old artisanal techniques with contemporary design. Others aim to highlight the skill of the artisans we work with and the beauty in traditional craft.
We always pay a fair price and donate a percentage of profits back to the communities.
We believe in slow-fashion and in recognising the skilled artisans behind each product, so every item we sell has a tag with the name & picture of it's maker. By buying our products you are helping to provide sustainable employment for the artisans we work with - and a future for this craft.
