Brown Betty Blue is a homegrown company specialising in handsewn and handmade children's items.

My mother and her twin sister have been avid sewers - my mum making curtains and blinds and my auntie who made our quilted dungarees as children. So from a young age I was taught to sew, knit anything that involved a needle!

When I had my first child I began sewing solely for her turning her lovely little socks in to teddies. But gradually as she grew I became more and more addicted about making her room individual and unique. So I turned my attention to playmats and quilts, then on to cushions and mobiles. Eventually I found myself drowning in items and not enough rooms (or babies!) to put them in. So I made the decision to turn my passion in to a business, with a 4 month old baby in tow I began researching, drawing and sewing more and more.

Now my small sock puppets for my baby have become cushions, wall hangings, Christmas stockings, garlands and much more for lots of other babies!
