Product description
A Willow Tit amongst Moss.
Created as part of a body of work examining the increasing list of endangered birds.
Willow tits are a tiny stocky birds, who spend most of their time in the same area - favouring damp scrubs. Using rotten deadwood, Willow Tits excavate their own nest holes every year and as a result, are difficult to aid with the use of traditional nest-boxes.
Willow Tits are now locally extinct in many areas, particularly in the southeast of the UK, as 94% of the population has declined since the 70s - with this decrease most likely due to the deterioration of woodlands and the loss of vegetation.
