It is typically a two-player game. Objective: The goal is to control more territory on the board than your opponent by strategically placing your pawns and surrounding the opponent’s pawns. Basic Rules: Players and Pawns: One player uses black pawns, the other uses white. Black plays first. Taking Turns: Players take turns placing one pawn at a time on the empty intersections (points) of the board grid. Capturing Pawns: A group of pawns is captured and removed from the board when it is completely surrounded on all sides by the opponent's pawns. No Repetition (Ko Rule): The board position must not repeat exactly. This rule prevents infinite loops. End of the Game: The game ends when both players pass their turns consecutively. The winner is the player with the most controlled territory (empty points surrounded by their pawns) plus captured pawns.
