All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.
We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines.
Featuring pages of unlined, handmade khadda paper which is made from recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. It doesn’t contain any chemicals as only unbleached cotton is used, so it is acid free. It is made by charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.
The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The embossed detail is created using small handmade tools, making each notebook unique. The pattern might not be exactly the same as the one pictured, but it will be just as beautiful.
