Three leaf clover art print, handprinted in grey, two blues, yellow, silver and brown ink. A lovely Japanese woodblock gift for gardeners.
The edges of the three leaf clover leaves are dashed lines printed in yellow and silver ink. The plant stems are printed in mid-blue dashes. The composition is printed according to the Golden Section, which gives it a high sense of balance and harmony - it is pleasant and cheering to look at. Upon the leaves, using the white of the paper, are heart shapes.
This botanical print would make a unique gift for people with a liking for Japanese design and nature.
The artwork is roughly a5 in size, making it good for nooks and small rooms/spaces, such as halls, landings, stairs, WCs, offices and studios. The striking colours and bold simple design also looks fine from across a room.
The art print was re-printed in Japan in the 1960s and was originally printed by master Japanese printmakers in the early 1900s for a design showcase magazine.
Choose to have this art print arrive in three ways, as is, simply a piece of paper; mounted (sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 " / 25.4 x 20.3 cms frame) or framed. The black and gold frame pictured is made from responsibly sourced timber with real glass from Dunhelm.
Advice for hanging: original artwork should not be hung above radiators / heat sources, nor in damp or steamy rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms or conservatories.
