A nostalgic, typographic graphic celebrating the lost art of being completely unreachable. The perfect witty lifestyle gift for Gen X, Millennials, and proud introverts.
It’s 1992. The heavy phone in the hallway is ringing off the hook, attached to a tangled, twelve-foot coiled cord. But you aren't there to answer it. You’re outside, down the road, or just living your life.
Back then, being "always available" wasn't a modern requirement—it was impossible. There were no flashing blue lights, no constant pings, and no digital leashes. If someone wanted to talk to you, they had to catch you at home. And if you weren’t in? Total, uninterrupted peace.
Let’s face it: navigating the modern world can be exhausting. Between work notifications, endless group chats, and digital burnout, we are all craving a little bit of that old-school quiet.
That’s why I sat down in my studio and created this unique piece.
The Artisan Process
No clean computer font for this, instead I used my real-life, authentic hand-stamped lettering kit to manually punch out the words: Call me. I won't be in. It gives the design that raw, ink-bled, indie aesthetic that feels like it belonged on a 90s mixtape cover.
Paired with a gritty, nostalgic photo of a classic 1980s telephone, this original graphic clothing piece acts as an instant inside joke for a very specific generation.
It makes a brilliantly sarcastic birthday gift for friends, a quirky Christmas present for brothers or sisters, or a cheeky Father's Day or Mother's Day gift for the classic 80s kid in your life. It’s a quiet badge of honor for anyone proudly navigating a midlife crisis who just wants to log off for an afternoon.
