Creative Wilding is built on a simple belief: that creativity isn't a talent some people have and others don't. It's something we're all born with and something most of us were quietly taught to put down somewhere along the way.
Too busy, not creative enough, not good enough. The reasons pile up until making something with your hands starts to feel like a thing other people do.
I believe everyone can be creative, and Creative Wilding exists to help busy adults reconnect with that innate creativity through slow, analogue, tactile craft and art-making that asks nothing of you except that you show up and enjoy it. No pressure, perfection or any expectation about being "good at it." Just the quiet, restorative pleasure of making something with your hands that I think is a fundamental human need.
The name comes from the idea of rewilding - restoring something to a freer, more natural state. Creative Wilding is rewilding your creativity: taking it back from the pressure to be productive or polished and letting it be instinctive, free and joyful.
That belief runs through everything I make. My kits use beautiful natural materials and arrive thoughtfully packaged, with clear instructions and, where it helps, a calm video tutorial that feels like a workshop at home. Every detail is there to give you permission to slow down, switch off the screen, and make something lovely - at your own pace, in your own way.
This comes from a lifetime of making. From my earliest memories crafting in my Nan's garden-shed studio, to a degree in woven textile design, to a career that wove through textile design, teaching and educational publishing - creativity has been my constant companion. I taught myself to crochet during a period of ill health and, during lockdown, started creating kits rather than finished pieces under the name Suzie Jules, and watched them become a NOTHS bestseller. That was the beginning of what has now become Creative Wilding.
I work from my studio in Church Crookham, Hampshire, drawing on years of textile, art and teaching experience to create kits and experiences that feel nourishing rather than rushed.
If you've found me here before under an earlier name, welcome back. Same hands, same heart, a name that finally says what it's all about.
Creative Wilding - Slow making, for a busy life.

Under former brand Suzie Jules, I was absolutely thrilled to be chosen as one of Theo Paphitis's Small Business Sunday winners. On Easter Sunday 2021, I tweeted Theo about my craft kit focused business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his near half a million followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,000 SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
