The steamer is pulling out of port and heading out to sea.The sea is calm and the ship is reflected in the water whilst smoke drifts up into the clouds above.The brush strokes are strong and bold adding texture to the picture.
The edges of the painting are painted dark blue and the picture comes ready to hang but is unframed.
