Beautiful leaf Japanese woodblock print, printed in brown, two greens, pink and silver ink. An exquisitely lovely gift for someone who likes gardening/nature.
This is a rare Japanese woodblock print that is roughly a5 in size. Because it is handprinted, the quality of the print finish is very nice to look at - the silver ink sparkles in the light and looks particularly splendid.
The Japanese artwork would suit a small space like a nook, stairway, hall, landing or office/studio in particular, as it is nice to look at close-up. It works in a different way from afar, as you see the abstract pattern and colour contrasts more.
It would be a nice gift for someone with eclectic taste, who likes leaves and flowers or someone with a liking for Japanese design. It is both delicate and striking.
The art print was reprinted in Japan in the 1960s and was printed first-off in the early 1900s for a Japanese design showcase magazine that was handprinted.
Choose to have this art print arrive in three ways, as is, simply a piece of paper; mounted (sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 " / 25.4 x 20.3 cms frame) or framed. The black and gold frame pictured is made from responsibly sourced timber with real glass from Dunhelm.
Advice for hanging: original artwork should not be hung above radiators / heat sources, nor in damp or steamy rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms or conservatories.
