Archaeolepis (n) - the earliest known ancestor of butterflies and moths.
This print takes inspiration from antiquarian moth collections, now on display in museums, that included everything from death's head moths to common peppered moths. Each moth has been hand drawn in pencil by London-based designer Maddie Chambers before being digitally printed in the UK onto 150gsm recycled paper using eco-friendly inks. For a vintage book plate feel, the approximate species of each mythical moth has been noted underneath in calligraphy. The perfect addition to an art collection or gallery wall, or great for adding a striking focus to a room on its own.
This art print is packaged with a thick cardboard backing board hand-stamped with the Also the Bison logo in a clear compostable plastic pocket.
Frame not included.
