Ammonoidea (n) - Ammonoids are a group of extinct species of marine mollusc animals. They are excellent index fossils, and can be used to date geological formations.
The Ammonoidea print is inspired by my long-term fascination with fossils, from staring for hours at dinosaur skeletons in museums to picking up ammonites along the Dorset coast. This intricate pencil design features trilobites and orthoceros fossils alongside the eponymous, swirling ammonites. Each ammonite has been hand drawn in pencil before being digitally printed in the UK onto 150gsm recycled paper using eco-friendly inks.
For a vintage book plate feel, the species of each ammonite has been noted underneath in calligraphy.
The perfect addition to an art collection or gallery wall, or great for adding a striking focus to a room on its own.
