These fabulous laundry baskets in stylish brown stripes are woven from robust doum palm in the Turkana region of Kenya.
Around 300 women from six villages work together to weave baskets in this area, mostly taught to weave by their mothers and grandmothers.
This is a corner of Africa renowned for severe drought, and so purchasing one of these fair trade laundry baskets supports the livelihoods of the weavers and growth of the Turkana economy.
Use your natural laundry baskets for laundry, towels and linen storage, or for general home storage, logs and kindling, or children's toys. The beauty of this African laundry basket is that it really can be used all over the home.
