Striking Image Sport Books

Fun, junior journals for serious athletes.

We design journals and activity books for junior sports fans.

Our journals guide and encourage children to reflect on their progress in their chosen sport. We believe that this is as important as time spent physically active, after-all, the more you reflect, the more you learn.

Whether their sport is football, rugby or gymnastics, our journals provide a curated space to track skills, achievements, thoughts and emotions. Reflecting on what went well, or what could be 'better if...'. Journal keepers n can record mood and effort, ideal to look back on to consider how that may influence outcomes.

The journals also provide space to record match or competition results, read motivational and inspiring quotes (or write their own!), as well as fun activities and pages to capture autographs from people who inspire them (whether it's grandparents or the best sportsperson in their field (a quote from their GOAT!).

How the books were developed

A positive created from difficult days!

The author of the 'Fantastic' series of books , Steven Gardner, a qualified FA football coach, started the first book as individual and simple, fun activities for the children in his grassroots football club, when they could no longer get out to meet friends or play their beloved game during lockdown. Expecting the home-bound confinement to last a matter of weeks, or maybe a little more with good behaviour! Before long, there was a raft of ideas and activities, and book was born!

The journey into designing books didn't stop there, with a further activity book under his belt, Steven decided to pursue an idea that he'd had throughout his seasons in coaching, curious as to whether his players were taking on-board the full benefit of the many drills and games in training, self-reflection, how were they managing emotionally... were they recognising the MANY positives, regardless of the result? This is where the popular training and match journals came about.
