The Warm Welcome rose (also known as ‘Chewizz’) is a specially bred climbing rose variety designed to offer spectacular floral impact without requiring excessive space. This variety is part of a select group known as patio climbers, roses that combine the vertical charm of climbing roses with a more compact and manageable growth habit.
Grown and supplied in a robust 5.5-litre pot, this rose is a well-established plant, nurtured in nutrient-rich compost that supports strong, healthy root development. The plant's roots are grown in a breathable, structured nursery-grade plastic container, ensuring excellent drainage and airflow to avoid waterlogging.
This Warm Welcome climbing rose reaches an approximate mature height of 220cm (7ft) with a spread of around 120cm (4ft), making it ideal for small-space gardening. Its controlled height and compact spread are perfect for training against fences, trellises, or arches, or for growing in large containers on patios and balconies.
Supplied in a 5.5-litre pot, the rose is already well established, offering a head start for gardeners. The pot measures approximately 22–24cm in diameter and contains nutrient-rich compost that supports healthy root growth.
Due to its upright yet manageable climbing habit, the rose lends itself to vertical interest without overwhelming a small space. For best results, allow at least 30–45cm space between plants if planting in the ground, and use a sturdy support system to encourage upward growth. Regular pruning and feeding will help maintain its shape and encourage a generous display of flowers throughout the summer months.
