Recipes which have been passed down through generations, on faded and spattered scraps of paper, can be given a new lease of life by being perfectly repliacted as an embroidered artwork.
Your handwritten recipe is faithfully recreated, including every quirk and imperfection, so that your favourite family recipe then becomes a precious artwork, and is always on hand.
Variations
The handwriting featured doesn't have to be a recipe, a child's hand written note, a treasured love letter, handwriting of another family member or friend could also be turned into a personalised artwork. Please see the other canvas options in my shop's product listings.
Your handwriting image can be re-scaled to best fit your chosen canvas size, although if your image features a lot of handwriting, a larger canvas may be more suitable, and produce a more easily readable finished artwork. As a guide, approximately 15 lines of text can usually be fitted onto a small canvas.
This is a completely personalised and bespoke piece of artwork, and each piece is made to order, therefore I will do my best to accommodate any suggestions or requests you may have regarding your artwork.

Made from
Working from a photograph, your handwritten recipe is carefully traced onto high quality cotton fabric. The handwriting is then sewn using freehand machine embroidery, a method of writing and drawing freehand, with a sewing machine. Any signs of wear and tear included with the writing can also be accurately re-created using paint and coloured thread.
All artworks are sewn by hand using cotton thread, and high quality 100% cotton fabric which is made locally. The sewn artwork is then stretched and securely mounted onto a sturdy wooden box-frame canvas and neatly finished with mounting tape to ensure a lasting and professional finish. The handwriting can be sewn in any colour of thread, and unless specified the nearest shade to the original photograph will be used.
Please note that as this is a hand-made piece of art the finished product will not be an identical copy of your original photograph, although as close a representation as possible will be created.
Being a personalised piece of art it will require you submitting your chosen photograph, preferably a jpeg file. You can upload your photo at the end of the checkout process, or once you have placed your order.

Find the relevant order and click the blue ‘Contact Seller’ button; and 4. Upload your photos using the text box at the bottom of the page (you are able to select more than one photo at a time by holding the ctrl button whilst selecting your photographs or highlighting a range of photos if you are on a Mac). Please note you have to provide text in the text box for photographs to upload successfully Alternatively you can send your image to [email protected] but please include your order number, and your image will be forwarded to me.
