Product description

Beautifully detailed, handmade and eco-friendly leather covered journal, hand crafted by Fair Trade artisans. The journal is embossed and emblazoned with a semi-precious stone.

These beautifully detailed, extra large journals are hand crafted by Fair Trade artisans. Filled with pages of unlined, handmade khadda paper, they’re perfect for writing, journaling, or scrapbooking.

The pages have been bound by hand so they are strong and perfect for travelling. And these beautiful books don’t have to be used as a journal, they’re also perfect to use as a scrap book or art book, doodle book or diary, and the paper is great for water-colour painting.

We don't recommend using fountain pen with this type of handmade paper.

The leather has been tanned by our suppliers and the journals have been crafted using a mixture of love, contemporary and traditional skills. The embossing has been expertly created using small individual handmade tools making each journal completely unique.

Variations

The semi-precious stones that have been stitched onto these leather journals have been hand picked by us for quality and size and may differ from the image shown due to the natural differences in Tiger’s Eye, Lapis, Labradorite and Black Onyx.

The deep blue Lapis stone symbolises wisdom, truth, and knowledge.

The amber coloured Tiger's Eye stone symbolises self-confidence, inner strength, and protection.

The beautiful multi-coloured Labradorite stone symbolises courage, consciousness, and creativity.

The Black Onyx stone symbolises healing, protection, decisiveness, and strength.

The Black Onyx stone symbolises healing, protection, decisiveness, and strength.

Add gift wrapping to your order, and we’ll wrap your gift in our highly sustainable Lokta paper. Choose from 3 festive colours, each with a handprinted metallic gold pattern, and tied in sustainable jute string. The thick, luxurious texture of the handmade paper makes it easy to reuse many times.

Due to its handmade nature each one is unique but loveliness comes as standard making it an ideal birthday, Mother's & Father's Day, new job, home, baby, graduation and teacher, thank you, just because, engagement, wedding, anniversary or Christmas gift!

Made from

All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

These journals have pages of plain unlined handmade khadda paper, made from recycled cotton (also known as kaddi or khaddi) that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. They are handmade and don’t contain any chemicals as we only use unbleached cotton.

The paper is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.

We are fortunate to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We are proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages with fairly paid work.
