About

I started Marloweville in 2017 after years of running a face painting and body painting business.

I loved the creativity of it - the glitter, the colour, the joy of seeing kids light up - but everything I made disappeared at the end of the day. I wanted to create something that lasted a little longer.

At the time I was also working as an intensive care nurse, so Marloweville became my creative counterbalance after years of being told art wasn't a serious career option- a colourful, joy-filled world alongside a very serious job.

After my first son was born, I spent hours wandering the high street looking for clothes for him and feeling completely uninspired. Everything felt a bit grey, a bit serious, and a bit lacking in imagination. So I started turning the creativity I’d been pouring into face painting into something new - playful clothing for kids.

Inspired by children’s books, make-believe worlds and the magic of childhood play, the nostalgia of my own childhood- I began designing colourful pieces that felt like little stories you could wear.

Nine years later, Marloweville has grown into a whimsical little world of bright colours, playful clubs and imagination-filled designs. I left nursing behind in 2018 to pursuit this wondrous path in 2018 and in 2020 my sister Shanney joined the business, and together we now spend our days creating clothing inspired by kids’ adventures, dreams and the beautiful chaos of growing up.
