Indian Poppy has a focus on bright beautiful textiles and stunning hand made homewares all designed by me and produced by small scale makers in Jaipur, India.

My name is Ava and I am a mother of two living in rural Suffolk. Its hard to explain exactly where my business came from as all stories have too many threads to trace back to one origin. However I have certainly had a passion for homeware and colour for a very long time! One of my first graduate jobs was in Liberty of London Home. After moving to India in my mid twenties, where I lived for 8 years I became completely immersed in the creative and cultural explosion and beauty, living in Rajasthan it is almost impossible not to find some degree of creativity. Initially selling antique objet and vintage textiles, I now have an ever growing range of block print textiles, vintage Kantha quilts and handwoven rugs and baskets. My baskets have been hugely successful because they are some of the biggest you will be able to find. Made from plain as well as coloured Jute they are eco-friendly and have so many uses. I also do smaller sizes, perfect as shoppers and trips to the market.
