Before each use, ensure the wick is trimmed to 5mm. This critical step promotes a clean, even flame, prevents excessive smoke, and avoids "mushrooming" of the wick. Use a long match or specialised lighter for ignition to prevent sooting on the jar's inner rim and ensure safe lighting. The initial burn is crucial due to soy wax having a "memory." Burn the 60ml candle for a minimum of two hours (but no more than three hours). This extended first burn allows the wax pool to fully melt and extend to cover the complete diameter of the jar. Failure to establish a full melt pool prevents tunnelling, which significantly reduces the candle's lifespan and overall performance. A larger pool of wax will also help release a stronger scent from each candle.
