There is great responsibility, respect and care that comes with craft and this ideology is imbedded in every handcrafted object.
I am deeply inspired by Scandinavian design, tradition and the rich and broken world of craft.
My intention is to create everyday woodenware from dry and raw materials that are carved to create a perfect balance of strength, function and form, using a process based on traditional handcraft using an axe, knife and chopping block. With simplicity being at the foundation of both process and design.
The finished surface is created directly from the cutting tools, using techniques refined from generations, this surface leaves a dialogue of the process and materials, which is unique to every piece.
My first introduction into green woodworking was at a skills sharing week at age 10 where I carved my first spoon. I bought my first carving axe and knife that same year. Over the following years, I had the opportunity to study with some of the best crafts people from around the world. This lead me to study in Norway which instilled my passion for Scandinavian design, culture and craft.
