One of a kind handmade glass feather ornament based on my sculpture Homing
Christmas can be a hard time for some people, especially if they have lost one of their loved ones. These glass feathers honour the person, the loss, and the ephemerality of life. They are a poetic, sensitive way to say how much you care, a bereavement gift of compassion and acknowlegment. Hand made from borosilicate glass, each one is unique. Sandblasted on one side, they have an ethereal quality. Each feather comes has an intrinsic hanging hole at the top so you can hang it on your tree, in the window, or display them on a mantle or table. They vary slightly in size from 11-13cm long by 3.5-4cm wide by 1.5-2cm deep. (4.25-5.25"x1.25-1.5"x0.5-0.75") Gift boxed.
Variations
Each comes with a postcard of my sculpture Homing, a 6x5.5x5 meter pair of glass dove wings hung previously in Chichester Cathedral in England. Please be sure to select which postcard you would like, straight on, or from the side. Many are bought to honour a passed love one. They are also just beautiful.
