Wrote and Writ is a London-Based calligraphy and illustration studio by Saiesha M.
I help bring creative projects to life, specialising in bold, bright and colourful prints and delicate calligraphy pieces.
My current range of products range from calligraphy quotes and place cards- ideal for personal gifts and events to illustrated maps and bold typography prints and illustrated cards.
My ethos is ethical and affordable. I strive to make sure as many aspects of my work are as environmentally friendly as possible, using acid-free paper, recycled packaging and biodegradable wrapping where possible.
An Inky Business
Most of my work starts in ink format. From the initial bases, and backgrounds to the lettering- whether that be bold lettering or delicate calligraphy pieces. I always find that adding a bit of texture adds interest to any piece and gives it a unique feel.
I finish off a lot of my work, especially cards and quotes with a little bit of gold ink. It sits on the linen-textured paper I love so well to add a bold and subtle sparkle. The hand-finished nature of my work gives my pieces an authentic and lively feel despite the well-intended imperfections.
