An eco friendly reusable coffee filter that replaces disposible paper ones!
Kakishibu is a traditional Japanese natural dyeing method that uses fermented persimmon juice as the dye. The tannin produced from the fermentation process coats and dyes the fabric, and the colour deepens as it is exposed to the sun, hence this process is also referred to as 'sun dyeing'. The tannin dye has excellent antiseptic, waterproofing, and mothproofing properties, and has been used as a folk medicine for centuries due to its antibacterial properties
This reusable persimmon-dyed linen coffee filter has been naturally dyed with no harmful chemicals added. It is not only environmental-friendly, but also combines the quick-drying properties of linen and the antibacterial properties of persimmon tannin. Therefore it dries quickly after wash, and can be reused again and again for a long time.
Due to the hand-dyed process, each linen filter may differ slightly from each other in terms of shape and colour, but it also gives the product a distinct character.
Handmade in Japan.
*Cleaning instructions: Wash off the coffee residue with water after use. Do not wash the filter with detergent.
