Lumify string is made of plastic, and Lumify's slick solar panel is just 8mm thick and uses thermally toughened ultra-clear tempered glass to seal the Lumify solar cells. Please use a damp cloth to clean the panel, and the strings can just be kept clean with a light dusting brush.
Outdoor Use:
Before you begin placing your lights, please make sure that the connector on the LED light string will be within reach of the control tube once you have placed your lights in your intended location.
Putting too much stress on your LED light string or solar panel cable can significantly reduce Lumify’s life expectancy. Always ensure that there is some slack on the solar panel cable and LED light string. Never have the control tube dangling unsupported from the end of the solar panel cable or LED light string. If you plan to wind your LED light string around trees, do not wind the string too tightly, as the diameter of the tree trunk will increase as it grows, which will stress the string over time. Failure to follow this guidance may invalidate your warranty. Please do NOT leave your Lumify to charge unattended for longer than a few hours, and disconnect the control tube from your USB charging device soon after the light turns green.
Indoor Use:
It is extremely important that you remove the battery from the control tube when using the lights indoors. If the battery is not removed, it will continually charge via your USB power source, which will damage the battery and may present a serious fire hazard. Removing the solar panel is necessary if you plan to use Lumify indoors because the solar panel contains the light sensor that controls when Lumify turns on and off automatically outdoors. Lumify will not operate indoors if the solar panel is connected and there are lights on in the room.
