A unique way to mark the arrival of your new baby. Bespoke letterpress seed paper birth announcements.
An environmentally conscious choice of birth annoncement and keepsake in one for family and friends to treasure.
Seed paper announcements are plantable and with care should grow into an beautiful lasting keepsake.
Working together, we will design your birth announcements together. Designs are developed digitally and aproof will be sent to you for approval. This will give you an opportunity to check all of the details are correct before I commence printing. This proof will be used to create your printing plate and printing can be scheduled.
Variations
Your birth announcements are personal to you and therefore fully customisable. Please bare in mind, the layout you choose may need some slight adjustments to accommodate your information. This will ensure the final layout is visually pleasing.
Seed papers are white and weigh in at 250gsm they are handmade and air dried, giving your seeds the best chance of germination are available with the following seed choices:- wildflower, chamomile, celosia, carrot, tomato
Envelopes are 135gsm and from the GF Smith Extract range. Created using recycled coffee cups, they come in a variety of colours to compliment or contrast to your chosen ink. Envelopes are available in a variety of colours, please refer to the attached colour chart.
Inks can match or contrast to your chosen envelopes.
Stationery is individually handprinted on an antique printing press. As your prints will need drying time. Please allow up to 15 days from approval of proof to dispatch.

Cards are A6 and measure approximately 14.8 x 10.5 cm, envelope is a C6 wallet with gummed strip.

I am always looking for new environmentally conscious ways to print. These papers are my current favourites.
Seed papers are white and weigh in at 250gsm they are handmade and air dried which gives your seeds the best chance of germination. They are 100% bio-degradable, made from residual cotton from the textiles industry making them a sustainable option. No trees were harmed in the production of these seed papers. See options for seed choices.
Envelopes are 135gsm and from the GF Smith Extract range. Taking disposable coffee cups destined for landfill sites, they work their magic and are able to transform them into stunning high quality papers. GF Smith state ‘90% of the waste from each cup is converted it back into FSC certified paper fibre’. Envelopes come in a variety of colours to compliment or contrast to your chosen ink. Stationery is printed with traditional oil based letterpress ink. I adhere to a non-chemical clean up using a rag system, vegetable oil and biodegradable cleaner made from citrus zest.
