This special snow globe was created as part of the museum's celebration that both paintings (each person is an individual portrait painting) were purchased together by the Netherlands and France and added to the Rijksmuseum's collection. These paintings are very special and are now being restored before being added to the collection.
Maarten en Oopjen, as they are referred to, have a great history and if you google the names, you'll learn so much more about the background of these two lovers, captured on canvas by Rembrandt himself.
