My real name is Lizzie Buxton, but I just love the vintage version of Lizzie (Betsy) and so that has led me to my business name ‘Bebuxart’. It’s just a shortened version of me! I am a Welsh, but Cheshire-based artist living with my husband and 7 year-old boy. My background studying Photography led me to marvel at the quirky black and white photographs of the 1900s and find inspiration through them which led to my own unique style.
I've always been a bit obsessed with drawing, since my teenage years - it's all I ever wanted to do with my time! I've spent years building up my collection of beauties. So who ya gonna love? Will it be 'Booted Bertha', 'Jewel Jetsetter', or 'Lilly Long-stockings'? Many of my designs can be personalised with initials.
Bringing Inky Love to Life
It's all about simplicity. Pencil, pen and paper equals perfection! I let my pencil go for a walk on a big piece of paper, and when I'm relaxed and inspired, that’s when the magic happens. I never know exactly how my drawing is going to turn out, but when I’m finally happy with it I carefully ink it up, scan it in, et viola! Lastly, designs are loving printed with a subtle shine.
