Beautiful native wildflower seeds for bees and butterflies, easy to sow and grow - a lovely gift for mum's who lilke to garden or who love bees and butterflies! Our Mum's Meadow mix includes Meadow buttercup, Oxeye daisy, Red clover, Self heal and Yarrow – five native wildflowers that are likely to thrive in the nutrient rich soils commonly found in our gardens. Proceeds from the sale of every tin also go directly to supporting Plantlife’s Greena Moor nature reserve in Cornwall.
The tin contains 20 balls (over 600 seeds), and will cover 1 square metre in a garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (total coverage of the set is 3 square metres and up to 5 planters). Leave at least 10cm between each ball. Best scattered in Spring or Autumn.

Made from
We make the balls ourselves from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protects the seeds from ants, birds and mice, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout.
Wildflowers are naturally slow to grow and the balls can take 2-4 weeks to begin to sprout. Some will flower in the first year and others may not flower until the second year, but the display should keep getting better each year :) The more they are initially watered the quicker they will be to start to grow, although they will be ok to leave them to the rain to water them as well :)
Tins are made by the last tin can maker of London with a help of a solar farm on the factory roof.
