What is baran? It is actually the green grass shaped decoration found in most Japanese bento/sushi boxes.

Here, it has become the star of the letter set and is surrounded by other colourful illustrated flowers and patterns. Both the letter sheets and envelopes are printed on mulberry Washi paper from Mino to create a soft texture. Since fluorescent ink is used, the colours are bright and eye-catching, which will be uplifting for the recipient.
