…this intricate artwork provides a new perspective of the United States of America, with locations represented by words synonymous with their particular area. Stereotypes, clichés and typecasts help to build an archetypical map of text to chart the infinitely diverse character of the country.
The outcome is a stunning visualisation of America, one that celebrates the diversity, the history and regional intricacies of 50 states of which constitute the nation.
The word map of the USA was created in collaboration between design store Snowhome and illustrator Alison Hardcastle and is the third map in the series.
The map was skilfully hand-drawn using ink and brush by Alison hardcastle and then printed as a lithograph.
