Learn how to make cold-process soap with Aromatherapy oils. Often considered the trickiest to master, but yields the most benefits for the skin.
Make your own bar of soap. The best handmade bars should bring a touch of joy every time you wash your hands. The scent should permeate the room, and leave your skin feeling and smelling delicious.
The workshops are based on small groups - no more than 8 people at most, so you will be learning in a relaxed, friendly group with plenty of time to ask questions.
You will be guided through the process, using family recipes for this natural, vegan and holistic workshop.
You are about to rethink your relationship to soap. The workshop starts off with a tour of essential oils, their benefits and how to use them to build up scent profiles. You will be blending your own scent, based on the smells that appeal to you or the aromatherapy benefits you are after.
You will be part of a small group - no more than five others, so you will receive a lot of personal attention. By combining sustainable oils with the pure essential oils you will start to learn how to create your base. Learn how to combine this with lye - the essential compound used in soap making, and identify 'trace' the moment when oil, lye and water emulsify, so you know when to pour your batch into the moulds.
During the class you will make 2 bars of soap. They will be ready to unmould after 24 hours, but will be stored for curing for 4 weeks. They will then be labelled with your blend name, or the name of your recipients and posted out to you.
With the experience gained in this workshop, you will be able to go on and create your own soap from the beginner-friendly recipe which will be provided at the end of the session. All good things come in small packages
