Mumbai Deco 'Nautica I' Original Screen Print

by Plum Chutney

Original Screen print inspired by Art Deco building "Pai House" in Mumbai, India. Printed by hand in London by print maker Anita Mackenzie.

Mumbai has a wealth of Art Deco architecture inspired by its nautical heritage and modernist trends influencing the architecture of cities world wide in the 1920's and 1930's. Pai House's gracefully curving balcony and roof line could quite easily be mistaken for the streamlined silhouette of an Ocean liner.
