This Shimmering Ice Blue Pendant from our LILABET collection is delicate and entrancing.
The dichroic base glass that creates the silvery blue colour is transparent so the blue will change in intensity depending on the background colour.
When arriving in the gift box it will look a vivid blue against the black, but will change to look more ethereal and sparkling depending on the skin tone behind the piece. Perfect for someone who loves to wear, or gift eye-catching jewellery made with love.
Every unique piece is handcrafted by Designer Hannah Hardill-Jones in the Mere Glass Lake District Studio.
Variations
Being translucent; the intensity of the colour in this pendant changes with the clothing you wear with it.
Against paler colours the blue is gentle, shimmering and subtle but when worn against darker tones, the blue shines more strongly and sparkles. Owning this necklace is like having two different pieces of jewellery.
Our making process ensures that each of our pieces of jewellery has unique patterns. The images show an example 'Lilabet' pendant. The pendant you receive will be very similar but not exactly the same.

Dimensions
This pendant measures approximately 4cm x 1cm (1.5" x 3/8").
As each piece of jewellery is individually cut by hand, there are slight variations in the size.
Made from
All Mere Glass jewellery is made from a base of coloured, dichroic glass. Dichroic glass is coated with an incredibly thin layer of metal which creates luminous and intense colours in the jewellery which change as the wearer moves. The glass is has a wonderful clarity of colour in daylight then, as the light dims, it seems to glow.
Each piece of jewellery starts life as a large sheet of art glass which is cut to size by hand and decorated with paint and glass shards. Pieces of glass are layered to create the basic form of the jewellery and then fired in the kiln to fuse the layers together. Some pieces are fired more than once to ensure the jewellery shows its best possible colour.
Our jewellery is all finished with sterling silver jewellery findings for the highest quality and comfort for the wearer.
Caring for your jewellery...
Fused glass is incredibly strong! Try not to drop the glass onto hard surfaces and it will last a lifetime.
Sterling silver tarnishes in the air or when it is coated with other products. To keep the silver shiny, we recommend
- taking it off before swimming
- making it the last thing you put to to avoid spraying it with perfumes, hairsprays etc.
- keeping it in its box when it's not being worn.
- giving it a gentle clean with a silver cleaning cloth every so often to keep it looking its best.
We pack all of our jewellery very carefully to ensure it arrives looking its very best. We offer eco-friendly gift wrapping and can hand-write your message on a gift tag to add a personalised, finishing touch to your order.
