Unusual black and white earrings made out of pottery shards that were found on the banks of the Thames in London.
These earrings each feature three tiny shards in black and white.
The look is tribal, but the pieces are probably mostly Edwardian and Victorian.
Each piece of patterened pottery was cleaned and set into specially made sterling silver frames. The ear wires are sterling silver and hand made as well.
Unique and interesting, these earrings make a statement!
There will only ever be one pair of earrings exactly like these, and you or your loved one will be wearing a little piece of history (or six) !
The pottery shards in these earrings were found while 'mudlarking' on the banks of the Thames in London. Each piece of pottery is unique, with a story to tell.
Many of the pieces have been rolling around the river bed for at least 100-200 years. Some are even older. I will give the approximate date where possible.
I select the shards carefully, but please note that because of their age, some of the pieces have surface imperfections. I believe this is part of their charm!
All the metalwork is fine (pure) and sterling silver.
Width at widest point: approx. 1.7 cm
Drop with ear wire: approx. 5.5 cm
