A very pretty 18ct gold 3 stone Edwardian era 'half hoop' engagement ring.
A very pretty 18ct gold 3 stone Edwardian era 'half hoop' engagement ring, set with two very pretty, well matched garnets and what appears to be a later replacement round cut Ruby. (The Ruby fluoresces as such and shows no obvious tell-tale signs of being a 'glass' reproduction under a loupe).
In between the red stones are mounted four small diamond chips, a common method of the time to give the appearance of more expensive faceted stones.
The centre Garnet measures approx. 4.9mm, with the outer garnet at around 3.4mm and the replacement ruby measuring almost 4mm
